Record Rules

Minimum distance to be ridden	18,000 meters/29,000km
Total distance to be travelled (including flights)	24,900m/40,000km
Route must include 2 Antipodal points: Mine are Madrid, Spain and Auckland, New Zealand
Same bike for whole trip
Accurate documented and photograph records to be kept en route. Supported by GPS print outs
Journey to be continuous in one direction i.e. east to west or west to east
Distance travelled in the opposite direction must be deducted from the overall distance travelled

Route Selection Reasons

Following sunshine and warm weather.
Avoiding bad seasonal weather e.g. Indian Monsoon Season etc.
Avoiding Hills
Visiting as many geographic, historic and environmentally interesting sites as possible.

I hope to complete the ride in 9 months, resting one day in every six, I need to average over 80 miles a day.
